Dubai: Mobility Systems

With such rapid expansion in the ground and skies, Dubai's human mobility is mainly based on critical transportation systems such as elevators, escalators and the subway. In part, this is due to the fact that Dubai is not considered a good city for pedestrians, but also at great distances. Leaving the Burj Khalifa, for example, it would take an hour's walk to the nearest beach. One of the original factors driving the city's growth is Dubai International Airport, an important Middle East hub. It consists of three terminals with a total capacity of 75 million passengers per year, making it the seventh busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic and the second busiest by international passenger traffic. Thyssenkrupp Elevator provided the airport with 658 transport systems, including 165 escalators, 125 automatic conveyors and 350 elevators. The company is also instrumental in providing maintenance services for urban mobility systems in the Dubai Metro - an essential infrastructure work, considering the distances within the city. Curiosities: In total, 84% of the inhabitants of the United Arab Emirates reside in cities. Dubai is just one of them. Other cities are also undergoing rapid urbanization, such as Sharjah and Ajman. http://www.urban-hub.com/pt-br/buildings/dubai-o-icone-do-oriente-medio-que-nao-para-de-crescer/
